All-Star Dunk Contest Participants Not Household Names

The NBA All-Star weekend continues to take form as the names of participating players are being released daily. On Thursday the league announced the 4 participants for the NBA Sprite Slam Dunk Contest and well the news is somewhat underwhelming. Here is the list of participants:

 

Chase Budginger of the Houston Rockets

 

Paul George of the Indiana Pacers

 

Iman Shumpert of the New York Knicks

 

Derrick Williams of the Minnesota Timberwolves

 

The league has already announced that Jeremy Lin will be part of the event assisting the contestants with passes on their attempts. A shrewd and at the same time exploiting move. Many are already calling this lineup lackluster with fans threatening not to watch the event at all. I have a feeling fans will come around even if its only to see if its as bad as they suspect.
