Andray Blatche Out With A Calf Injury

As if the Wizards weren’t struggling enough this season, it now seems as though they will be without one of their starters for the foreseeable future. At 4-16 with half of their season’s wins coming at the hands of the lowly Bobcats, the Wizards will have to find a way to deal with this lack of depth in the front-court.
According to the Washington Post, Andray Blatche will be out at least 3-5 weeks with a strained left calf muscle. Blatche, whom the Wizards thought had turned a corner last year with career highs in points, rebounds, steals and assists, has been having his least efficient season since his rookie year in 2005. At 10.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game this season, he has already fallen out of favor with interim head coach Randy Wittman and rumors have surfaced that the team was attempting to trade him before the injury.
The Wizards, who started out the season with a league worst 8 game losing streak, are currently slated to play the Chicago Bulls tonight in Washington. Following that, the team will be off to Orlando and Toronto as part of a 2 game road trip this week.
