Over the last decade 2 sports video games have dominated in the United States: Madden NFL and NBA 2K.  This year will be no different with the much anticipated release of both Madden 13 and NBA 2K13.  While both games are great, there are a few differences that should be noted.

1) The NBA 2K13 cover will feature 3 players.  The Bulls’ Derrick Rose, the Clippers’ Blake Griffin, and the Thunder’s Kevin Durant.  The Madden 13 cover will only have the Lion’s receiver Calvin Johnson.

2) Madden 13 will be released this year on PS Vita, Wii U, PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360 while NBA 2K13 will have it on those consoles as well as the PC.  If you are a PC gamer, unfortunately you won’t be able to play Madden NFL 13

3) There are plenty of tips, strategy guides, cheats and more at websites such as Madden-School.com and others.  This gives people who are hardcore players an advantage since there aren’t as many tips and guides websites available for NBA 2K13.  That isn’t to say there won’t be glitches and exploits in 2K13, just they aren’t as easily accessible as in Madden 13.

4) Madden 13 comes out on August 28^th while NBA 2K13 doesn’t come out until October 2^nd.

NBA 2K13 and Madden NFL 13 should be the top 2 sports games of the year once again.  If you are a fan of the NFL or the NBA and want to put your gaming skills to the test, pick up either one of those games.
