Daequan Cook Waived By Rockets, Signed By Bulls

Daequan CookThe Houston Rockets have waived Daequan Cook’s 3.1 million contract in order to clear up cap space. Cook’s contract was non-guaranteed but still no one claimed him. Just one hour after Cook passed waivers the Bulls signed him according to ESPN’s Marc Stein. Stein tweeted the following:

Mike Conley Sr., agent for Daequan Cook, makes it official and says Cook is indeed signing with Bulls now that he’s cleared waivers as 5 PM

Daequan Cook is a three-point specialist and could help the Bulls replace the departed Kyle Korver’s three point shooting. This season Cook is averaging 3.4 points a game, but his career high in points a game is 8.8 when he was a rookie with the Miami Heat. Cook’s best three point percentage in the league came two seasons ago when he shot 42%, the year he won the 3 point contest.
