Jose Calderon has spent all of his 7 years in the NBA with the Toronto Raptors. He has been averaging a splendid 11 points, 9 assists and 3 rebounds per game this season. Calderon’s contract lasts until next 2012/13, where he will be making over $10.5 million.

The Raptors have recently asked Calderon to shoot the ball more. “I do like him off the ball, where he comes off screens, pindowns,” Casey said. “Still, you’ve got another opportunity to set another pick-and-roll situation. So you could have multiple pick-and-rolls with him in the game. It gives us the versatility, especially with Jerryd coming back.”

Przybilla spent several seasons with Portland before being traded last February to the Bobcats.

Przybilla, who also considered signing with the Heat, Bulls and Bucks, will bring veteran frontcourt play to Portland.

Sean Grande, the radio play-by-play voice for the Celtics, was the first then Blakely sent out this tweet.

”And then there were two … #Celtics all-stars this year. Rajon Rondo will replace #Hawks G/F Joe Johnson.”

The “and then there were two” reference is to Paul Pierce already being selected.

Rondo got snubbed the first time around — he missed eight games due to injury and that seemed to cost him with the coaches. But he is having his best season ever, taking on a larger role with the Celtics and giving them 14.8 points and 9.5 assists per game. He defends, he organizes. He’s one of the best point guards in the game.

The guy with a complaint now is Josh Smith, the Hawks forward who is having a monster season. With Johnson out and no Smith, the Hawks have no representative. But brining in Rondo keeps the guard/forward roster balance closer to even.

Joel Przybilla is expected to decide on Wednesday which team he will sign with for the remainder of the season.

Przybilla is picking between the Heat, Bulls, Bucks or Blazers.

“I think Portland is always the sentimental favorite for obvious reasons,” agent Bill Duffy said. “Joel has a home here and he had the best years of his career here. And at this particular time, it looks like he is needed, too.”

The soon-to-be restricted free agent has no idea where he’ll play next season, but he knows his hometown team, the Indiana Pacers, is on the list of teams he finds intriguing.

The New Orleans Hornets will be able to match any offer made to Gordon this summer.

“It’s going to be interesting,” Gordon said Tuesday. “It’s all about whatever happens, happens. Coming back here would be a lot of pressure, but I think it would be good for the fans. We’ll see. You never know where this summer will take me.”

Shumpert is dealing with patellar tendinitis in his right knee and is day-to-day. He is expected to sit out All-Star weekend to allow his injury to heal, which would open the door for Evans’ last-minute addition.

The pursuit of Gilbert Arenas by the Lakers appears to also be tied to a possible trade for Ramon Sessions.

Sources believe the Lakers can acquire Sessions for a first round pick.

If they are unable to acquire Sessions or a comprable player, the Lakers may then turn to Arenas.

The Warriors are pursuing a trade prior to the March 15th deadline, according to general manager Larry Riley.

“We’re working day and night and we’re hopeful,” Riley told NBA.com on Monday night. “But what will not happen is, we won’t do something that sets us back just to do a deal. We want to find the right deal, and if we get one of those we’ll do it. I don’t know what the odds of it are right now.”

Golden State is 12-17 and in 13th place in the Western Conference.

“I think it would have remained intense regardless of what’s going on,” Riley said of trade efforts, dismissing the idea that the bad start has pushed the Warriors into trade mode.

“We recognize we need to get better whatever our record is. Let’s say we’d won half of those close games. We could be a .500 team. I think we’d be pushing real hard. I guess I would have to be honest with you and say that if we’re 20-8, then things change. There’s reason to stay the course at 20-8. But if we were a .500 team or one or two games above, I don’t think it would change at all. We’re wanting to get better.”

Any major trade would almost certainly include Monta Ellis.

Greg Oden has suffered yet another setback with his troublesome knees. He cannot catch a break.

The often-injured 7-foot center was undergoing a minor procedure Monday to clear out debris in his left knee in Vail, Colo., when the surgeon determined there was additional damage and performed microfracture surgery, the Portland Trail Blazers said.

The former No.1 pick in the 2007 NBA draft has now had two microfracture surgeries on his left knee, and one on his right. He has also undergone surgery for a fractured left kneecap.

The Blazers say Oden will not play this season.

“It’s hard to put into words the heartbreak for everyone involved, but especially for Greg. He’s a young man who has experienced a great number of physical challenges in his playing career and today is yet another significant setback for him,” Trail Blazers President Larry Miller said in a prepared statement. “We have a lot of empathy for Greg and his family during this difficult time.”

“Greg’s still very young, in relative terms, for a professional basketball player. He’s recovered from a couple of these before – his last two microfracture lesions have healed fine,” Buchanan said. “So there’s no reason to think he couldn’t come back as long as he shows the work ethic and desire that he’s had in the past to come back. I think it’s premature to speculate anything beyond that.”

If someone was already tired of Linsanity, Lintendo and so on, it was Deron Williams and the New Jersey Nets. They outmatched the league’s sensation and Knicks in Medison Square Garden with a final score of 100-92.

Deron poured in 36 points, dished out six assists while shooting 10-22 from field with a career high 8-14 from deep. He outmatched Lin who had 21 points and nine assists. In his return, Melo had a poor night only scoring 11 points (4-11 shooting) with six dimes.

Nets are 10-24 now.
