As Expected, Hornets Match Suns’ offer for Gordon

A busy offseason for the New Orleans Hornets, they have matched the Phoenix Suns’ four-year $58 million offer sheet for guard Eric Gordon. Disgruntled, Gordon publicly displayed his unhappiness with the organization and urged the team to let him leave. Nonetheless, the Hornets have announced that they have matched the offer sheet, as expected.

After losing Chris Paul to the Clippers last season, the Hornets look to rebuild with No.1 pick Anthony Davis, and No.10 pick Austin Rivers. It is reported that the Hornets are also close to a sign-and-trade deal that would land them Orlando Magic’s Ryan Anderson for forward Gustavo Ayon.

With an injury plagued season last year, Gordon was the team leader in scoring with about 20 points per game. Undoubtedly the superstar of the team, Gordon, along with the rest of the young talent on this team look to make this upcoming season as successful as possible.
