With his waiting period nearly up, the NBA has it’s sights pinned on former Denver Nugget J.R. Smith. While there has been no official word as to where he will sign, he posted a hint earlier tonight about the possibility to play in New York.
“I wonder what it’s like to play on broadway? #hmmmmm!”
Smith, the 7 year veteran who was drafted with the 18th overall pick in the 2004 draft has played for 2 teams in his career. He spent 2 years in New Orleans before winding up in Denver for the last 5 years. He is averaging a career 12.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2 assists per game in just under 24 minutes per contest.
Smith has spent the last half year playing in the Chinese Basketball Association for the Zhejiang Golden Bulls. He is currently averaging 33.8 points, 7.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game through 23 starts this season.
