Latest in the Dwight Howard Saga
The NBA is a buzz with rumors today about Dwight Howard.
“Dwightmare” is in full force.
Initial reports indicated the big man requested a trade to Brooklyn to play alongside Deron Williams. Even though the Orlando Magic are well aware of Dwight’s wishes, that isn’t stopping them for pursuing the best deal possible.
The Los Angeles Lakers and Orlando Magic have had preliminary contact about a possible deal for All-Star center Dwight Howard, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. According to Yahoo’s sources, any deal involving Dwight Howard would have to involve Andrew Bynum, this might be a concern for the Lakers if Howard is not willing to sign an extension as a stipulation of the trade.
Houston wants Howard bad. They stock piled draft picks to get him. They might be the dark horse in this, giving the Magic what would probably be the best offer combined with the willingness to rent Howard, and take a shot on if he stays.
Another problem that is coming up right now is the fact that Brooklyn is looking for upgrades elsewhere. They resigned Gerald Walace, and are apparently in the hunts to get Joe Johnson and/or Louis Scola effectively giving them no chance at Howard.
It’s going to be interesting to see how this episode of Dwightmare unfolds.
Got to feel for Orlando Magic fans!
