Magic Demanding Gasol & Bynum for Dwight & Turkoglu’s Contract
Chad Ford from ESPN: “The way Bynum is playing right now makes it more plausible that the Magic might be willing to do something akin to a straight swap between the too. Up until know they’ve been demanding Pau and Bynum and asking Lakers to take back Turkoglu. I still think LA is the most likely destination for Dwight Howard if Bynum can stay healthy.”
After coming back from suspension, Bynum knocked down 29 points and grabbed 13 boards. He shot 13-18 from the field. In the next game, he went 7-12, scoring 18 points and grabbing 16 boards. Last night against the Rockets, ‘Drew dropped 21 points and grabbed a career high 22 rebounds.
After a weak playoff performance, Pau Gasol has started the new season on a positive note. Over the course of 7 games, Pau has been averaging 17 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks per game, along with a high field goal percentage of 57%.
Dwight Howard has been having a spectacular season as well, averaging 18 points and 15 boards in the first 6 games of the season. He has been shooting 55% from the field, and averaging 3 blocks and 2 steals per game.
The Magic are also demanding the Lakers to take on Turkoglu’s contract, which is $30M over 3 years.
