Magic Hire Rob Hennigan As General Manager
The Magic have hired Rob Hennigan as the franchise’s new general manager.
Hennigan was most recently assistant GM with the Thunder and becomes the youngest GM in the NBA at the age of 30.
Hennigan met twice within the last week to meet with members of the DeVos family.
Magic president Alex Martins seeks to build the franchise in a way that is similar to the Thunder.
Hennigan will immediately be forced to make a decision in regards to the future of Dwight Howard.
“It is with great enthusiasm and optimism that we announce Rob Hennigan as our new General Manager,” said Martins. “Rob is an astute strategist and evaluator of talent who comes to the Magic family from two championship-level organizations. We feel he is an outstanding fit and the right choice to lead our Basketball Operations team in achieving our championship goals.”
