According to Chris Broussard from ESPN, Nets are aggressive pursuing Josh Smith of the Atlanta Hawks:

”Nets going hard after Josh Smith, sources say. While they’ve discussed a trade for Ben Gordon, getting Josh is a bigger priority.”

According to NBA.com’s David Aldridge, the Hawks informed Smith’s representatives that they are not willing to give Smith the maximum level deal he is seeking.

There is a high probability Josh Smith and the Atlanta Hawks will part ways before the trade-deadline. Spectators around the league have expected Smith to be dealt from the Hawks ever since his comments about wanting a maximum level contract.

The Phoenix Suns are also on the list of teams who are pursuing Josh Smith.
