(By David Vranicar) New Orleans Hornets guard Eric Gordon has turned down the team’s four-year extension and will become a restricted free agent after this season, according to the Associated Press.

Gordon, 23, landed in New Orleans during the off-season as part of the blockbuster deal that sent Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Clippers. Gordon was drafted by L.A. in 2008 and had played his whole career there.

As soon as Gordon rejected New Orleans’ offer, speculation began that the Indiana Pacers will make a run at Gordon, who is from Indianapolis. Yahoo Sports’ Marc Spears and Indianapolis Star Pacers beat writer Mike Wells are among those who have posted on Twitter that the Pacers will try to land Gordon.
